Important information for Livingston Parish Schools families and students: Act 305 of the 2026 Regular Legislative Session established new penalties for marijuana possession in school zones.
These changes took effect on Aug. 1, 2026, and include increased criminal penalties.
LP Schools campuses are drug free zones.
The law applies to school property, within 2,000 of school property, and on school buses.
Families and students are encouraged to review the attached information to learn more about the law and the penalties associated with violations.
