WHAT IS DECA?

DSHS DECA is an academic, professional association of students with an interest in careers within the fields of marketing, finance, hospitality/tourism, culinary arts, fashion merchandising, retailing, and business management.

Requirements to Join: 

  1. Must have take at least one of the following courses: Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance, Business Law, or Accounting. 

  2. 2.0 GPA (required to maintain in order to stay in the club)

  3. $35.00 club-includes DSHS DECA T-shirt (starting for the 2018-2019 school year)

  4. Attend Club Meetings

  5. Maintain good standing in all areas both academically and in regards to school discipline.

-Fall Leadership Conference

-Sports Marketing Conference (Either New Orleans Pelicans or LSU Athletics)

-Louisiana DECA's Career Development Conference

-Southeastern Louisiana University's DECA Day
